Understanding Frames of the State-Sponsored Media Tweets During the 2019 Hong Kong Protests

In this current study, Chinese government’s strategic communication efforts were explored in the context of 2019 Hong Kong protests via state-sponsored media tweets. To understand how government conveyed and it is engaged with other stakeholders, tweets examined inductively terms frames stakeholders. Recognizing nature agenda building, message frames, their characteristics relationships around issues key aspects understanding issue. Results show multiple identified to described, who main actors were, presented social messages. The representation stakeholders or messages changed over a short period. roles as public diplomacy tools information sources are discussed.
